Both students Learning in the Lesson Engine and adults Accessing Resources in Professional Learning are able to use the Messaging tool, available via the Hand icon.
The Messaging button allows the student to send a private message to the teacher and receive a private response. Students can also receive messages sent by the teacher to the entire class. Both types of messaging are available during and after the school day. Note that students cannot privately message other students.
When students have a question, they can also digitally raise their hand to send the teacher a notification. This option is particularly helpful for students who would otherwise be too shy or self-conscious to raise their hand or indicate that they are confused.
