Signing In & Navigating

Upon going to www.modernteacherone.com, you will see this screen:

After typing in your username and password and clicking "Login," you may be brought to this landing page:

At most, you have access to Strategy & Leadership, which includes materials tailored to administrators; Professional Learning, which provides materials for teachers; and theLesson Engine, which allows you to use the platform with your students. If you have only one of these options, you will bi-pass this landing page.

If you're working through this lesson, you're in the Professional Learning context. You may not have access to the Lesson Engine yet, so we'll show you here what it will look like when your Lesson Engine account is set up.

When you select the Lesson Engine option, you will automatically be redirected to the Teach view first. In the Teach view, navigate to the desired Class Period via the dropdown menu in the upper left corner.

Then click on the appropriate Course, Unit, Lesson, and Lesson Page. This navigation is the same as what students will see and do when navigating to their lessons. It is also the same navigation that you experience when accessing Professional Learning resources.

Click into a Lesson Page to see the Lesson content. Then, use the arrows in the bottom right and left corners to move back and forth between Pages.

The icons in the upper right corner of the screen have the following functions:

  • Context Switcher allows you to navigate between Modern Teacher ONE contexts, including the Lesson Engine, Professional Learning, and Strategy & Leadership
  • Home brings you to the Lesson Listing page of any class you've selected
  • Class View allows you to view individual students' progress, grades, and messages. Note that you have this icon only when Teaching in the Lesson Engine or Facilitating a Professional Learning class. Learners instead have a hand icon which allows them to communicate with the teacher.
  • Refresh is helpful to resolve technical issues
  • Exit logs you out of Modern Teacher ONE
A close look at the Context Switcher is provided below. Note that you may only have one available context, and over time you may be given access to more.
