Lesson Listing & Icon Recognition

Here's what it looks like when you first log in to Modern Teacher ONE and access Professional Learning. Study the icons below:

When you switch contexts to Teach in the Lesson Engine, your home screen will change and appear as it is shown below. The most noticeable change is in the color. The Professional Learning context is in a greenish blue color, while the Lesson Engine is in a more aqua blue. (If you have access to Strategy and Leadership, the color changes again to a darker blue.) Also notice the difference between the Class View icon you have as a teacher, and the Messaging icon you have when accessing Professional Learning.
When Teaching in the Lesson Engine, choose between Class Periods via the drop down menu in the upper left hand corner. For instance, if you teach Periods 1, 3, 5, and 7 throughout the day, each period will appear in the drop down. If you teach just one class period all day, you will only have one option.

The Context Switcher lets you switch back to Professional Learning or to the Management side of the Lesson Engine, where you can create and assign Lessons, search the Library, view your Gradebook, and more.

The Home Icon brings you back to the Lesson Listing View, which acts like a table of contents for the units and lessons you teach.

The Class View Icon allows you to view student activity, message students, and grade students' work. We will discuss Class View at the end of this Level 1.

The Messaging Icon, shaped like a hand, appears only when you're in the Professional Learning context, or when students are Learning in the Lesson Engine. This icon allows the learner to message with the teacher of the class, or to raise his or her hand to indicate a question.

The Refresh Icon circular arrow should be used to refresh the content of a page or to correct a technical issue.

The Exit Icon logs you out of your account.
